Power Pack Components and Specifications - by Gregorio Padin (Click to Download .docx file)
Power Pack Small End Connector
Price: $40
This part is an original 5-pin connector as
used in the prop of the Power Pack. There are still available out there but brace yourself for the price if you
are buying only one. I have sent out for more than I will ever need in order to bring the price down in the best
interest of the members and to get my return on the investment. I do not expect them to be sold overnight but
once my inventory I depleted I will search for more if there is a demand for these.
This is a must for the builder who is making the Power Pack as original to that of the series. If you have the
other 5-pin connector you can make it look as the original with the difference that the back profile is a bit different.
This part is offered as part of the prop for the Power Pack. Any other use is up to you to do the research, but
feel free to ask any questions to the club members. I'm certain there are to be recommendations.
Again this is an original 5-pin connector and the picture shows it as it comes to me from the manufacturer.
Shipping is to be done via USPS Priority Mail. This seems like overkill but when I send items First Class some
gets lost. I will always try to add some non-B9 related goodie to offset the Shipping cost. Or you can get
more of my parts.
Power Pack ITT Capacitor
Price: $25
This is one of the parts
most sought after besides the R-212 TS Transistor. Through trial and error, I have perfected my process for
removing the original print and placing the new one. It's as accurate as an original since these are made
with capacitors that have the same physical appearance as the original ITT capacitor. The new label is placed
as a decal and the values on it were obtained via research and also with suppliers who I have contacted for the
original. It also has the heat shrink wrap that was carefully cut to be reused.
This is a relabeled capacitor to resemble the one from the Power Pack.
I consider this one of my favorite part ever made. ALthough I've continued searching for the same type,
I have not been able to get more and I only have a limited amount of these. This is prepared upon request.
Due to the limited amount available, I need to limit the amount per order to provide
opportunity to all.
Power Pack Tung Sol Transistor R-212
Price: $35 set of 3
Any builder will agree that one of
the parts most sought after besides that special connector is the R-212 TS Transistor. I have spent countless hours on
the reproduction of several Power Pack items and this one was the most complicated due to it's size and circular shape.
Through trial and error, I have perfected my process for removing the original print and placing the new one. It is as
accurate as an original since these are made on original TS transistors and following a font very similar to those
found on a TS transistor. The new label is placed as a decal and in an almost horizontal position so it can be read
once the Power Pack is installed on the B9. If you look at it close up you can see the circular shape of the decal and
how well it was made and placed.
This is a real TS transistor relabeled to resemble the R-212 from the Power Pack.
I consider this to be my favorite along with that other part mentioned, and I would really like to make this available
for all members to have on their Power Pack. For this reason, the price is set to make it affordable for all.
Power Pack Square Capacitors
Price: $15 set of 3 (one white, one black and you select for the third one, white or black)
This part is relabeled
capacitor based on the physical specifications of the original. The values on these capacitors are not 100%
accurate but are close as I was able to obtain. The white capacitor has a red font (not apparent in the picture
attached) and is printed on both sides. This does not, I repeat, does not have the WESCAP on top as it did originally.
The black capacitor is printed on one side in white.
Based on research, there are three square capacitors. In some cases, it is 2 white and one black and in other
cases, it is two black and one white. You will get a set of three (unless you tell me otherwise) with one of each
color and you select if the third one is white or black.
You can always decide to make these yourself or get them along with any other item from me :)
Power Pack Bournes TrimPot
Price: $45
This part is an original Bournes Trimpot no longer being
manufactured with the part number from the prop. You can find the same value but the part number is different. The
additional numbers, that do not match the original prop, is the date code. I was able to find this out based on conversation
with suppliers that had these.
Once my inventory I depleted I will search for more of these but only if there is a demand.
This is a must have for the builder who is making the Power Pack as original to the that of the series.
Shipping is via USPS Priority Mail. Seems an overkill but when I send items First Class some gets
lost. I will always try to add some non-B9 related goodies to offset the Shipping cost. Or you can get more of
my parts.
Power Pack Rivets
Price: $1 for 6 or free if getting the five pin connector
If you have the tool and the correct size rivet,
you can say goodbye to this item. Otherwise this is the easiest and perhaps cheapest way to get the custom
look without doing the real thing.
This is a short aluminum rivet intended to be placed on the 5 pin connector. They give the Power Pack more of
that vintage look and feel. The Power Pack only has two but if you plan on placing these under the board, you
can use two more back there. They are easy to install, just take some type of clear tacky glue with a toothpick and
coat the inside hole of the 5 pin connector. Then place the rivet (refer to the photo above - 5 pin not included). I have not done this for those under
the board but you can have fun with it. :)
Price: Free! It only gets better then that if I pay you for taking them (but I wont. LOL). If this is the only item just send me a self addressed
envelope or a forever stamp. Please email me for more info.
Send me an email indicating if you want 2 or 4 (I recommend to get 4 because for the price, you cannot lose. They are worth every penny. LOL).
